| As you explore the area Underneath the Sphinx you may need a little help. We're here for you. | |||
Running with the Bulls
|
Not one, but two bulls guard this next area. As usual, there isn't any way to kill them. There are, however, two cages that you can use to trap the bulls. This isn't a difficult task, but it can be a tedious task. You might take a little damage as you attempt to lure them around, but it's certainly possible to accomplish this without a scratch.
Cryptic Clues
|
With the two bulls dealt with, you will have to figure out the three panels with the hieroglyphics. Your only clue can be found nearby where a previous unlucky explorer organized a whole set of hieroglyphics in Roman alphabetical order. There's your only clue, so push the panels in order according to the alphabetical list on the scrap of paper.

After pushing the three panels in the order specified by the scrap of paper you will find a chamber with four colored shafts with four alcoves beneath each shaft. If you look into each shaft with your night-vision binoculars, you will see four more combinations. Write them down and head back to the three panels. As you open the various gates using the combinations provided, you will retrieve artifacts to place in each of the four niches below the shafts.
You're Only Human
|
...and mistakes happen. If you press the panels in the order of reeds, then falcon, and then slope, you will open a gate to a part of the tomb that doesn't lead to any artifact. There are a few bats and the challenge of avoiding several traps, but nothing else. You have to brave the traps going in as well as coming out to open the exit gate and reset the panels.
Hands and Knees
|
This hint is for the area behind the gate that opens after you push the panels in order of falcon, slope, and finally reeds. Beyond the bats and the pit you will find a cave with three crawlspaces. Within the crawlspaces you'll find several places where the floor of the crawlspace is made of wood. Most of them will drop Lara into a pit of spikes, but amidst the crawlspaces Lara will find one of the artifacts and a lever to let you return to the three panels.
Puddle Skipping
|
This hint is for the area behind the gate that opens after you push the panels in order of slope, reeds and finally falcon. Another pit and a couple more bats will attempt to hinder your progress. After that you'll encounter a flock of crocodiles. The rest is easy if you know what to look for. Four niches and a lever. There's nothing else to know, just do them all.
Know Your A, B, C's
|
This hint is for the area behind the gate that opens after you push the panels in order of slope, falcon and finally reeds. A couple more bats and another pit stand in the way of the next task. This is perhaps the hardest of the four. When you find the watery shafts explore them thoroughly. Along the way you will find five hieroglyphics underwater. You must pull the levers in the rooms near each hieroglyphic in order. What order, you ask? The one indicated on your scrap of paper. The final room holds the artifact.
Two of a Kind
|
This hint is for the area behind the gate that opens after you push the panels in order of reeds, slope and finally falcon. You should be familiar with the routine now. There are some bats and a pit. After that there are lots of hieroglyphics with niches beneath each one. One opens the gate and the other holds an artifact. In the rest of the niches, you'll just find swarms of angry beetles. The correct two niches can be found if you find the two that are mirror images of one another.
Cole Slaw

Once you've obtained the four artifacts, you need to return to the room with the four niches and four shafts. The artifacts are conveniently color coded, so place the matching artifact in the niche below the appropriate colored shaft. After that you'll learn what vegetables must feel like in a food processor. In order to escape, you must zig zag around the room and pick up the four artifacts.
