| Run forward along the dirt road toward the west. As Lara nears the end of the road, a mercenary (1) will attack from the ahead and to the right. Draw weapons and open fire while hopping backwards. | |||
Silver Key
|
When the mercenary is dead, run forward and a second mercenary (2) will emerge. Open fire and kill him. Run
forward and pick up the Silver Key (1)
that the mercenary will drop when he falls. Run forward, toward the large steel doors, and turn right. Run forward to the smaller steel door and turn right. Use the silver key in the receptacle to open the smaller steel door to the north. Turn left, draw weapons and charge through the newly opened doorway. Two mercenaries (3, 4) will attack from atop the concrete walls on the right. Fire on them while jumping up and down. Continue to evade their attacks while firing until they're dead. Lara can take them out fairly quickly with the crossbow equipped with poisonous arrows. Run forward and turn left to enter the gap in the wall. Turn right and run forward into the dark alcove. Pick up the box of regular shotgun shells (2) and reverse roll. Run across to the other dark alcove and pick up a small Medi Pack (3). Reverse roll, run forward and turn right to exit back through the gap in the stone wall. Run forward and turn right and run down the sandy alley between the two stone walls. Turn right and climb up onto the stone wall to the east. Run forward, along the stone wall, toward the east and be careful not to fall into the deep pit. When Lara nears the end of the stone wall, turn right and take a running jump to the ledge with the lever. Turn right and throw the lever. Turn right and take a running jump back to the stone wall. Take a running jump over to the stone wall to the north. Take another running jump to the ledge with the lever to the north. Turn left and throw the lever to open the steel door at the western side of this courtyard. An assassin (5) will enter through the newly opened door. Turn left, draw pistols and wait for the assassin to climb onto the wall and open fire. Trick him into lowering his guard by holstering the pistols, drawing them again, and opening fire. Repeat until the assassin falls. Take a running jump to the stone wall and run forward to drop to the ground. Turn right and run forward through the gap in the stone wall ahead. Run forward, angle Lara to the right, and continue forward through the newly opened door. Turn right shortly after Lara runs through the steel doorway. Ahead is a deep pit. Step forward to slide down to the ledge just below the rim of the pit. Walk forward to the edge of the ledge and angle Lara to the left. Take a standing jump to the ledge on the western side of the pit. Turn right and walk forward to the edge of this ledge. Side step to the right and then angle Lara to the right. Aim Lara for the part of the rim to the north that is horizontal and sloping upward to the north. Make sure Lara is aimed for the left side of the slope. Take a running jump and grab onto rim of the pit. Pull up and run forward. Walk forward to the rim of the next pit. Angle Lara to the left and draw a weapon. The crossbow equipped with poisonous bolts is preferred. Take a standing jump down to the ledge below on the western side of the pit. Take aim on another mercenary (6) and open fire while stepping carefully to the right and backwards into the pointed corner of the ledge. When the mercenary falls, step forward and pick up the large Medi Pack (4) ahead. Angle Lara to the right and take a running jump to the ledge at the northeast corner of the pit. Angle Lara back to the left run forward, and climb up out of the pit. Run forward, turn right and continue forward to the gray door. Kick open the gray door and step inside. When Lara is inside, immediately turn right, draw pistols, and crouch down. Shoot apart the crate in the corner, run forward and pick up a set of Uzi clips (5). Turn left and run forward to the aluminum bookcase ahead. Push the bookcase forward to reveal a metal grate. Turn right, crouch down, and shoot open the grate. Crawl forward, and angle Lara to the left. Continue until Lara reaches the end of the crawlspace. Draw pistols and shoot out the other grate. Crawl forward, immediately stand up, draw a powerful weapon, and turn right. Charge forward to take out another mercenary (7) that will be guarding a button in the corner. Pick up a box of regular shotgun shells (6) that the mercenary drops when he falls. |

Metal Blade
|
Head toward the middle of the room and draw pistols. Shoot apart the crate in the middle of the room and pick up the metal blade (7). | ||
SECRET #1
|
Head to the aluminum bookcase at the eastern wall. Pull the first bookcase once to the north, away from the other bookcase. Run around to the other side of the bookcase and push it forward until it is against the wall. Reverse roll, run forward and pull the other aluminum bookcase once. Run around the second bookcase and pick up SECRET #1, a shotgun (8). Most likely, Lara is already carrying the shotgun, so it will count as six shells. | ||

Run to the northwest corner of the room. Push the button to open the
door. Ready a powerful weapon, such as the crossbow equipped with
explosive or poisonous bolts, and take out two mercenaries (8, 9) that are patrolling outside. When both mercenaries are dead, step up onto the ramp and exit through the doorway that Lara just opened. Turn left and run forward to the edge of the pit. Angle Lara to the right and take a running jump to the ledge at the western side of the pit. Turn left and take a standing jump to the small ledge on the southern side of the pit. Turn right and walk forward to the base of the steep slope and take a standing jump up out of the pit. Walk forward to the edge of the pit to the south and turn left. Walk forward and slide down to the ledge at the northeast corner of this pit. Take a running jump across to a small sloped ledge on the southeast corner of the pit. Walk forward to the top of the sloped ledge and turn right. Take a running jump to the ledge at the southwest corner of the pit. Turn left, walk forward to the base of the slope and take a standing jump up out of the pit. Turn right and run forward. As Lara passes the front of the sphinx, she will notice the tablet between its front paws. Turn right and approach the white stone tablet. Lara runs forward to the white stone tablet. She sits down on one leg and reads speaks to herself while tracing the hieroglyphics with her finger, "The inscription reads, 'One night in dreaming came to me the spirit of the sphinx. In his passing, he spoke unto me words of great wisdom, "Thutmosis, here is your true destiny: This land of Egypt is forever yours to rule. In return, protect me always from the sands of time. As you are, I must be free from head to toe. So that we both may see the divine beauty of creation."'"(follow plot) Reverse roll and run forward, away from the white tablet. Angle Lara to the right and head to the edge of the pit. Run to the triangular ledge at the rim of the pit on the south east corner of the pit. Turn and face north. Use the crossbow equipped with the lasersight and take aim on two assassins (10, 11) that are patrolling a large steel door at the northern side of the pit. Take them out with explosive crossbow bolts. Walk to the sphinx's right paw, which is beside the pit and turn and face west. Slide down into the pit to reach the ledge just below the rim of the pit. Turn and face west. Take a running jump to the triangular ledge on the west side of the pit. Turn right and angle Lara to the northeast. Take a running jump to the ledge at the northeast corner of the pit. Turn left, run forward, and climb up out of the pit. Run forward to the large steel doors and turn left. |

Wooden Handle
|
Run forward, draw pistols and blow apart the crates that are to the
left of the large steel doors. Run forward and pick up the wooden
handle (9) and reverse roll. Run across
to the right paw of the sphinx. Vault up onto the small brick ledge and run forward. Walk forward and take a standing jump up onto the sphinx's paw. Turn right and run forward to the end of the paw and pick up a box of wideshot shotgun shells (10). Turn left and run forward to slide down to the ground. Turn left and run forward to the dry cracked earth in front of the white tablet. Combine the metal blade with the wooden handle to form a shovel. Use the shovel on the dry cracked earth. Lara will dig through the hard earth, which forms a crust over a tunnel below. Run forward to drop into the hole that Lara dug, and run forward down the tunnel. |
