The Mastabas |
Items: 17 |
Kills: 65 |
| It may appear when you first explore The Mastabas that this is a complex level, but after a little more exploring, you'll find it quite linear. Here are some hints for you. | |||
Perimeter Search
Berfore entering any of the mastabas, take a quick look around. There's an item near the petrol station that you'll need later. You might as well get it now.
Tomb Raiding
Ah, you finally get to raid a few tombs. You can enter only a few of the mastabas from the outside. Once inside you'll find a trapdoor in the floor that leads to the burial tunnels below. After a thorough search, you will find two things of interest: a torch lit room with three carved lion heads with gems in their mouths and an exit. Nothing to pick up? Well there are always carved lion heads to shoot at. When all is said and done, you should be ahead a water skin. Do not exit the way you entered, but rather follow the tunnels until they pass through and turn up in another mastabas.
Southeastern Mastabas
Okay, not too original titles for these hints, but then again, neither are the mastabas. Exit the demolished mastabas and take a jump across the deep pit and enter the next mastabas by force. Another trapdoor and more tunnels. Exploration reveals more of the same. Another torch lit burial chamber and a pass-through exit of the tunnel. The prize will be a bag of sand.
Familar Turf
Okay, another couple of jumps across the deep pit and you'll be in front of the next mastabas. Inside, you'll find another trapdoor and more tunnels. Yup, you guessed it more tunnels, a torch-lit chamber, but this time you'll also find a torch. You'll need the torch after you've done your business in the room with the carved lion heads with gems in their mouths.
Weighty Puzzles
In the chamber beyond the lion's head chamber are three scales with three symbols below the pan of each scale. You have everything you need to place the appropriate material in each pan. Everything you need should already be in your possession or can be found nearby. You've got it right when a door opens and you find two mummies and another shaft key.
Southwest Mastabas
Once you've got the shaft key, you'll cross the scales room and make your way to the exit of the tunnel. Another jump across the deep pit and another mastabas. You'll find another trapdoor and more tunnels. This time nothing of interest except to pass through and out. Exit to find yourself right in front of the next mastabas.
No Surprises
Enter to find more of the same. Another mastabas, another trapdoor, more tunnels, and another torch-lit room with carved lion's heads and gems in their mouths. You must know what to do by now.
Speak No Evil
Once you are inside the chamber beyond the latest lion's head chamber, you'll find three statues of monkeys. In front of each statue is a switch with the lever missing. That's okay, because you're equipped for the job. Now which one to pull. Although we've already given you the biggest clue, pulling the wrong lever isn't fatal. Throwing any of the switches will release a monkey. Two of the monkeys will attack, while the last will help you. Don't kill the helpful monkey, or you're stuck.
Three of a Kind
The monkey's help will gain you access to another shaft key. Taking the shaft key opens a door on the opposite side of the monkey room. Follow the tunnels to the end and you're out.
